Basic concept:
Understanding the basic concepts well helps us design a customized cylinder that can meet your specific application.
- Cylinder Application: Function and operating conditions of cylinder and overall machine.
- Force/load: the force exerted. Do I need the cylinder to push, pull, or both? The force required determines bore size as it is relative to operating pressure.
- Cylinder type: Cylinder Construction Types, Structure of cylinder.
- Mounting type: How do you mount a hydraulic cylinder? Mounting types include the base mount and rod mount.
- System Operating Pressure (psi): Maximum pressure of cylinders.
- Fluid Type: Category of hydraulic fluid supplied to the cylinders
- Temperature: Customization should consider environmental factors and weather extremes.
- Move Speed: The speed of piston rod retracted and extended
- Stop tubing: Can increase the distance between the rod and piston bearings, improve stability and enhance piston bearing shelf life.

Here are three ways that we design and make custom hydraulic cylinders:
1)Make simple adjustments based on the standard styles.
Just make slight modifications based on our modular standard elements; it’s the most cost-effective way to suit your requirements for a specific application. You should print the drawing of standard styles and then write down the sizes that need to be amended. Show us the drawing, and then you can get a free quotation.2) Make different combinations of configurations among standard styles.
We have 15 series standard styles; making different combinations of configurations among standard styles is optional, such as customized cylinders with clevis base mounted and Tang rod ends or cross-tube base mounted and clevis rod ends.
3) Full Custom Design & Engineering From Scratch
When your application demands truly unique specifications—due to extreme conditions, highly constrained space, unprecedented performance, or bespoke machinery integration—our expert engineering team is ready. We design and manufacture a hydraulic cylinder specifically for you, from the ground up.
This comprehensive approach involves deep collaboration: from initial concept, detailed CAD modeling, and material/sealing selection, to specialized surface treatments and rigorous prototyping. We ensure your custom cylinder is precisely engineered to deliver unparalleled performance, durability, and reliability in your most demanding applications.

OEM Cylinder Types
Double Acting Cylinders
The double-acting cylinder generates thrust in two directions. So it can push the load up and down or back and forth. Each end of the cylinder has a port, allowing hydraulic fluid to enter either side of the piston to extend or retract the cylinder.
Deciding which one is right for your application depends on the work you need to complete. If you only need one-way movement, a single-acting cylinder is the ticket. If you need to move the load in two directions under the action of power, a double-acting cylinder is your ideal choice.

Single Acting Cylinders
The plunger in a single-acting hydraulic cylinder extends when hydraulic fluid under high pressure is pumped into the cylinder. When it is time to retract the cylinder, depending upon the cylinder design, the plunger can be retracted using a return spring, by the load, or simply by gravity.
The single-acting hydraulic cylinders is simpler than its double-acting counterpart. With fewer components, there is much less to go wrong, which is good news when it comes to maintenance. Single-acting cylinders are ideal for straightforward jobs – especially when fast or controlled retraction isn’t essential.

Integrated Valves Cylinders
When counterbalance or pilot-operated check valves are required in your application, the optimal position is directly mounted to the cylinder since it continues to provide load retaining protection even if a hose breaks. From simple single or dual counterbalance valves to complicated integrated circuits, our experts will create compact valve manifolds for your cylinders.

Hollow Rod Cylinders
Hollow piston rod cylinders with a hollow piston that allows the rod or cable to be inserted through the entire length of the body. They can be used for tensioning, load testing, extracting bushings and maintenance applications. All cylinders feature hard chrome bores and rods for maximum corrosion resistance and are covered with bronze in the piston bearing area to reduce scoring and extend service life

Double Rods Cylinders
Double rod end cylinders operate with a single piston and two opposing rods. As one rod extends, the other rod retracts. As a result, the two ends can do reciprocal work in positioning or in moving with equal force, equal stroke length and equal speed. AiSoar manufactures double rod end hydraulic cylinders for a variety of applications that require push and/or pull force from both ends of the cylinder.

Cushioned Cylinders
Cushioned hydraulic cylinders help reduce impact and shock when the piston reaches the end of the stroke.
AiSoar can customize welded hydraulic cylinders with rod-end cushioning, cap-end cushioning, or double-end cushioning according to the equipment speed, load, stroke, and working conditions.
For applications using multiple cylinders, the retraction cushioning design helps keep the cushioning time more consistent, supporting smoother and more stable equipment movement.
They are suitable for applications that require smoother movement, lower vibration, and better protection for the cylinder and machine structure.

Position Sensing Cylinders
Position sensing hydraulic cylinders provide stroke position feedback for equipment control systems. AiSoar can customize welded hydraulic cylinders with integrated sensors, including magnetostrictive, Hall effect, inductive, and resistive sensor options.
They are suitable for automated equipment, steering systems, lifting machinery, agricultural machinery, and other applications that require accurate cylinder position control.

Rephasing Cylinders
Rephasing cylinders are two or more cylinders connected in series or parallel, with bores and rods proportioned so that when oil flow is supplied to the first or last cylinder in the series, all rods extend and/or retract equally.
The bore and rod sizes are always the same in “parallel” applications, and the cylinders are always used in pairs. The steering feature on equipment is most usually employed.
Bore and rod sizes are often varied in “series” applications, and two or more cylinders may be employed. In these applications, the bores and rods are sized so that when flow is given to the first or last cylinder in the system, all rods extend or retract equally.

Telescopic Cylinders
Telescopic hydraulic cylinders utilize multiple nested stages, achieving a long working stroke in compact/retracted form. AiSoar Hydraulics designs and engineers application-specific telescopic cylinders, purpose-built to withstand demanding applications and work environments.
An experienced engineering team helps you work through design considerations to ensure your cylinder meets your requirements. Choose from the following custom telescopic cylinder design options:
- Single-acting telescopic cylinders
- Double-acting telescopic cylinders
- Combination of single- and double-acting telescopic cylinders

Manufacturing
AiSoar Custom Welded Hydraulic Cylinder is Your Best Choice

1. We are a family owned company with a full staff of engineering, production, quality control, sales and customer service departments. Our factory covers an area of 13,000 square meters with modern standard workshops and more than 200 sets of cutting edge equipment.
2.We have more than 20 years’ experience designing and manufacturing custom hydraulic cylinders. Our development has put a lot of time and effort into organizing standardized modules and standardizing process flow. Now that we have modular standard elements, we use a PLM system to manage the drawings, and we use a MES system for documentation, traceability, and data transparency.

3. Short-run production for custom cylinders, even just 1 pc, is supported. For customized hydraulic cylinders, huge-size orders are preferred, mid-size batch orders are fully supported, and small orders are acceptable for long-term customers. By standardizing and optimizing components’ specifications, we can integrate resources and apply them to different customers’ orders. By doing this, even when an individual purchase order is not on a large scale, components’ costs can still be much lower.
4. We take care of our cylinders like our children. We manufacture all our parts in-house, so the quality of our hydraulic cylinders is super good. Before assembly, we clean all the parts with a high-pressure cleaning machine, and we flush before testing. Each cylinder would go through the testing procedure before packaging to make sure there was no internal or external seal leakage. Paint with primer first before the main paint to make sure the cylinders look perfect.
